Dr. Fernando Fernandez is a native Texan, having been born and raised in El Paso. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. Dr. Fernandez then completed his medical education at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio.

He went on to complete a three-year surgical residency at Mary Immaculate Hospital, St. John’s Queens Hospital, and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York, serving as chief resident during his final year of training.

Dr. Fernandez is an active member of both the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Texas Podiatric Medical Association. He is board-certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is board-certified in Primary Care by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. Dr. Fernandez is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Fernandez has extensive training in forefoot surgery and diabetic foot-related complications and has earned special recognition for his experience with Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction. He has been practicing in The Woodlands since joining Advanced Foot Care in 2016.

Prior to relocating to the area, Dr. Fernandez practiced in El Paso for seven years. He is proud of his Hispanic heritage and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Dr. Fernandez enjoys the interaction with the diversity of patients that he meets, and he finds joy in being able treat people of all ages.

Dr. Fernandez and his wife are proud parents of two young children. Together, they enjoy all the events and activities that The Woodlands and other surrounding areas have to offer. They also enjoy everything Disney and are always willing to try new foods. Dr. Fernandez is an avid sports fan, supporting all the Houston teams and cheering on his other favorite Texas teams.
