In pain due to overuse or a sports injury? Have a plantar wart that just keeps coming back or a bunion that hasn't responded to conservative treatments? Foot or ankle issues limiting what your child can do or setting them up for problems later in life? Just want to keep your feet looking and feeling fabulous? You've come to the right place.
Since 1993, Advanced Foot Care has helped countless patients from The Woodlands and neighboring communities restore and maintain the health of their feet and ankles. No matter what brings you to our practice, our gentle, caring, and trusted podiatry experts have a service or treatment option that's right for you.
Services We Provide
Advanced Foot Care specializes in a variety of podiatric services and treatments to meet your needs. Here's a look at the services we offer at our practice.
Preventative and Routine Care
We teach patients how to properly clean and care for their feet and provide routine care such as trimming, cutting, or clipping toenails; cutting or removing corns and calluses; and other hygienic maintenance intended to help you avoid common issues and keep your feet feeling their best.
Not all foot or ankle problems require surgical intervention. Whenever possible, we use conservative methods to help patients resolve pain and other issues. Here are just a few of the non-invasive treatments we may recommend:
- Rest/temporarily discontinuing the activity that resulted in injury
- Ice or heat therapy
- Bandaging, wrapping, or taping feet
- Exercises and stretches
- Physical therapy
- Casts and braces
A highly effective conservative treatment, custom orthotics are versatile medical devices that allow us to address pain, bunions, and other common foot and ankle problems by supporting, cushioning, and protecting your unique foot structure. After a careful examination and diagnosis, we'll make a mold of your foot and send it to an excellent orthotics laboratory for manufacture.
Not only do we clip, trim, and clean nails, but we also provide conservative and cutting-edge nail care and treatments for ingrown toenails, black toenails, fungal toenails, and more. Here's a look at two of our popular state-of-the-art therapies.
- Hyper Blue laser treatment uses a specific type of light energy to kill fungus lurking underneath your toenails. Boasting a success rate of up to 90 percent in clinical trials, as well as 15-minute sessions, no pain or side effects, and no recovery period, Hyper Blue is a safe and effective alternative to topical treatments.
- The KeryFlex Nail Restoration System lets us provide medical-quality artificial nails that are flexible, durable, and look like your natural nails. This is a fantastic option for patients who want immediate cosmetic results following treatment for a nail issue.
Gentle Pediatric Foot Care
Foot and ankle problems don't just affect adults. If your child is suffering from ingrown toenails, sports injuries, abnormal walking patterns, or other painful or unsightly conditions, we can help. We offer gentle and compassionate pediatric foot care for young patients of all ages.
Diabetic Foot Care
Diabetes dramatically increases the risk for neuropathy, wounds, infections, and other severe foot and ankle complications that, without proper treatment, can lead to amputation. In addition to treating these issues, we help patients with diabetes learn good habits and develop a comprehensive diabetic foot care strategy to keep their feet safe and healthy.
MLS Laser Therapy
This non-invasive procedure uses laser energy to penetrate deep into the soft tissue, triggering the body's natural healing responses and reducing pain and inflammation. It is often used to treat patients suffering from heel pain, tendonitis, arthritis, sports injuries, and other common foot and ankle conditions.
Swift Treatment for Plantar Warts
Plantar warts are caused by strains of the human papillomavirus, or HPV, that invade the body through cuts, cracks, and other vulnerabilities in the skin's surface, where they remain largely undetected by the immune system. Swift Treatment uses low-powered microwave energy to "excite" the cells in the area of the plantar wart, alerting the immune system to the presence of the virus and invoking a healing response.
Though we believe that surgery should generally be a last resort, when more conservative therapies fail, it may truly be the best option. Fortunately, our doctors are highly trained and skilled in foot and ankle surgical procedures for a wide variety of conditions.
Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction
When conservative bunion treatments fail, Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction is a revolutionary surgical procedure that addresses the root cause of the deformity using state-of-the-art instrumentation. The result? Permanent and less painful bunion correction with a much shorter recovery time compared to other surgical options.
